Let's Catch up!
It's a pleasure to have you back this week. Continuing our discussion of astrology and what's to come from last week, Pluto is moving into aquarius from January 20th, 2024 to September 1st, 2024. This is a pretty big deal considering this time will "set the foundation for revolution, change, and transformation for generations to come. The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was from 1778 to 1798 and this period was a game changer in the history of mankind with important events like The French Revolution and the Irish Uprising taking place during these years" (Vogue India).
As we navigate through these upcoming shifts, let's keep a watchful eye on ourselves and the efforts we put into our goals. Channel this energy to reflect on our personal transformations and the valuable lessons learned along the way. A gentle reminder:
in the grand scheme of life, change is the only constant.
How can you start making meaningful change and cultivating self love through the process? How about starting with a weekly Sunday reset.
The Power of Sunday
Sunday is a great time to take part in a reset. What is this you may ask?
It's a day dedicated to preparing and organizing your to-do's to create a positive lasting impact for your week ahead. Picture it as a "high maintenance routine" that actually makes your week much easier and productive.
Sounds a bit unconventional, but trust us on this one - it's all about infusing a bit of romance into your life, focusing on joy, and doing things that are good for your well-being while being super smart with your time.
What does a Sunday Reset Routine Look Like:
Everybody's routine maybe different depending on what they choose to prioritize. Here's a few ideas to inspire you (feel free to modify to fit your lifestyle and preferences):
Wake up on your own time to maximize beauty sleep and do some comfy bed yoga.
Let yourself catch up on sleep and let your body fully recover from any stresses you had during the previous week. A quick yoga routine can further release any tension you've been holding onto. Here's a super cozy one by Jessica Richburg! https://youtu.be/YVQYEkarZmk?si=P40DDEgKgUX1Ei9-
Chef up a nourishing meal
Fry an egg, throw some bread in the toaster, and indulge in some juicy fruit. Nothing says self love like cooking yourself a gourmet style breakfast.
If you feel extra tired and want a quick fix, blend up a smoothie with fruit and leafy greens for a little energy boost. My personal favorite is a blend of frozen mango, spinach, and vanilla almond milk. Feel free to toss in or swap out any of the ingredients.
Take time to declutter
Strip your sheets and linens and toss 'em in the wash, pull out the couches to vacuum the hard to reach places, wash and sanitize your makeup and hair brushes, or organize a cabinet in the kitchen. Decluttering is great for our mental well being and invokes a sense of calmness in our minds.
Take an "everything shower"
This is YOUR time. Take these moments to really get in tune with yourself. Light a beautifully scented candle and play some soft music to set the mood. Wash your hair and massage your scalp with either your fingers or a scalp massage tool, apply a hair mask, and use a yummy scented body scrub to exfoliate and rejuvenate skin.
Prioritizing natural products for our skin is a form of self love, ensuring our skin gets the best ingredients possible. Our skin absorbs everything we put on it, so opting for safe and nourishing ingredients is a win for your skin's health.
One of our absolute favorites at the salon is Edye's skincare collection. Crafted by a talented small business owner in New Jersey, Edye's skincare boasts a lineup of 100% organic and natural ingredients. A standout for us is their Himalayan Sea Salt Scrub, featuring a blend of "Himalayan Crystal Salt, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Avocado Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Organic Carrot Seed Oil, Organic Rosemary Oil, Organic Peppermint Oil Arvensis, and Organic Peppermint Oil Piperita." Essential for a spa day at home!
Meal Prepping
Prepping your food will start saving you valuable time and serving as another act of love for your future self, ensuring productive and stress-free days ahead. Here are a few quick tips to kick off your meal prep routine:
Pre-hard boil some eggs, whip up homemade dressings ready to go, pack up tomorrow's lunch in advance, and pre-cut some fruits for quick snacks. Nothing says self love like planning to nourish your body with healthy foods.
End your day with the perfect night routine
End your day with the perfect night routine, prioritizing your peace and embracing relaxation. Start by indulging in a soothing face mask and skincare routine. Since it's a Sunday reset, feel free to do some extra self care. Paint your nails, lotion your body, sculpt your face with a Gua Sha routine, or apply some teeth whitening strips.
Create a cozy and peaceful haven as you wind down. Slip into your freshly washed sheets, grab a good book and accompany it with a sleep girl mocktail – the perfect way to signal to your body that it's time to unwind. Here's a great recipe to try: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8WH6wE4/
In a world buzzing with social media, make a conscious effort to disconnect. Instead of mindlessly scrolling, opt for activities that nurture your inner self. Take a moment to journal your thoughts, reflect on your day, and dedicate a solid 20 to 30 minutes to meditation. Practice gratitude, allowing positivity to linger as you drift into a restful sleep. Because, after all, a tranquil night routine sets the stage for a beautiful week.
